The BM5a's are still hot... but I'm pretty damn sure that these are trumping them... off the ribbon tweeter technology alone.

i need to try these out man. i'm going to the music store to give these a whirl. you did mention these but you didnt compare them to the bm5a's yet. how do they stack up against the mackies?
honestly, they're probably a different sound than the mackies are... same with the bm5a's...
they're top end is superior to the bm5's though... cuz of the ribbon tweeter... they get a higher frequency up top...
they have some pretty nice bass response...
i think a pair of mackies, and a pair of a7s would be a great combination....
or even better would be a pair of a7s and a pair of ns10s (the remade ones that cost 600/pr, i forget the guys that made them right now, but its not by yamaha)
