What program are you using? or are you just trying to hear the MPC without a program? I don't know if the fast track has direct monitoring or not, so you might have to go thru a recording program to hear it.
BTW... you should definitely be using SPDIF instead of analog line outputs to avoid quality loss.

im not using one i figured the mpc would directly come out of the monitors if hooked to the m audio fast track .... so i do need a recording software? It came with abelton live

You should be able to. There should be a direct monitoring option. Are you plugging the MPC into the line inputs 1 and 2 on the back of the fast track? you also have to push the rear buttons on the front of the fast track for channels 1 and 2.
