Word. I feel you on that, but I ain't leaving LA for shit, my daughter is here.

So, I just roll with the music scene that appeals to me most and for the most part it's the reggae/hip hop explosion out here. My band, Porque Si has been asked time and time again what catagory we are. Hell, our answer is on our website. Gangstacoustic, cuz nothing else applies, we had to make our own. With many of the roots and culture reggae artist now being accepted in the mainstream, we shall have more of a chance to be heard now than ever...

the south has its own sound and wtf is up with people shitting on club music?
jesus you DONT have to listen to it
and its not being represented poorly
if anything the east coast was represented horribly as nothing but crack selling, gun toating, highschool drop out emcees "smack a bitch ho" shit
    same with the west coast
and then people run to underground saying its "Real" and other bullshit

    people suck
you dont have to listen to rap if it offends you so fucking much lately
times have changed Rap is being marketed and played in clubs
its not taboo to throw up a rapper in a night club or on the radio
and people like songs they can dance to
like c'mon imagin going to a club and hearing IT or Talib
the Ying Yang Twins are NOT rappers like that
they make catchy music and are good at what they do

    ummm not really

in new york we have a balance for every drug dealing bitch smacking rapper, you have the conciousness emcees, or the emcees who are a perfect balance between both, same with the west coast, cube was nice as fuck with gangsta rap, but he did put out conciousness shit, like today was a good, amerkia's most wanted, and other shit, same with dre, snoop, and alot west coast rappers, whereas in the south nowadays all you hear is crunk music, you don't hear a balance with them and it's sickening at times, they basically take a dope bass beat, spit trash lyrical, and the entertaining value that their track have decreased when they put out the same shit over and over again with different beat and just rewording shit. It's fuckin annoying.

btw i agree with lil fire cham is decent, will be dope as long as he contiunes to progress

i agree with you about that urban but thats mainly just the "mainstream" southern rappers except for like T.I. and well thats about it but see that is shit cuz i live in mobile, alabama and noone down here listen to swisha house or luda or lil jhon or scrappy.....we all think that shit is garbage and a majority of southern peeps down here will agree that shit is garbage now what we listen to is different like..T.I...chamillionaire..old school lil boosie.....tumtum & fat bastard.....E.I....illabama...alot of peeps most of america has no idea about and thats the true dirty south music not that bullshitty ass ATL music or for the most part houston shit...and thats why it sucks to have horrible people from the south that arent anything like the true black folk down here and they make everyone around the world believe thats how we all are but we not
    Say wha??

yin yang twins suck dick son. dont give me that buulshit that they make catchy music and dont have to be nice. fuck that. u dont know shit about music if u say that shit. the yin yang twins dont make those beats. and the BEATS are what people in the club are listenin to. the producers make the songs hot. these wack ass rappers just ruin the fuckin work that the producers do. so dont give me that crap. rappers like yin yang twins get absolutely no credit for anything. they're corporate clowns being used as puppets to sell cd's. why? cus wack ass rappers will sign any kind of pitiful ass record deal cus they have no bargaining chips.

I live in the south too, I ain't from here, I'm from Compton, but I've spent the majority of my life in Memphis. And I can't stand this Southern shit. Only niggaz I fuck with is Three 6 Mafia. Them niggaz go hard. But this other southern shit that I hear is garbage.

hence the reason your a fucking garbage ass wigger.

    ANYWAYS...
and i don't think chamillionaire is known enough to be on my radar right now. I honestly have only heard one track from him, from off the internet. So blah... i cant put him on any list.

I actually enjoy 3 Six mafia jonits SOMETIMES, because the beats they make are dope.

Ying Yang twins are complete and utter ASS. Period. YOu'll never change my mind about them.

Every rapper DOESNT have to be a "nas" rapper... but at least lets get some diversity on the radio... i mean come on... if you listened to the radio all the time, you would think that every rapper is a "love song/club rapper".... wtf???

    RADIO IS RUINING HIP HOP.

Its not promoting diversity, and creating a "rapper" stereotype that will NEVER be lifted as long as things continue to go as they are.

    alot of underground is garbage
people turn to underground to sound like they know hip hop
or use it as an excuse to mention rappers names that nobody has heard of so they can go
"Oh you never heard of him? well hes nice man"
    but nobody really cares

then people turn on them when they go mainstream
(I.E. Mobb Deep..faggots are still bashing them since they signed with G-Unit how retarded are you??? )
people knock rappers for wanting to make a buck

theres a reason a rapper doesn't go mainstream

I totally wish every single rapper was exactly like Mf Doom

ACTUALLY good underground rappers can make just as much money as mainstream rappers because they can make more points on sales. a lot of rappers dont wanna be on mainstream labels because they'll get raped by the industry. u should learn how shit works b4 u say anything else that is 100% false.

    Nah.. I wouldn't say it's that, necessarily.

Radio itself, doesn't have to be a negative influence. Hip-hop needs radio. The problem is, people like Clear Channel are monopolizing the rotation.

It's a vicious circle.. if people like Cyph opened their minds, the stuff that sells wouldn't be such bullshit anymore - Clear Channel would loosen their grip, and everyone would be happier.

For fuck's sakes.. I like party music as much as anyone; I like to move to music. But that doesn't mean it has to be ignorant ass shit. And it wasn't always like that.

Jesus, could you be more moronic?

Firstly, I wouldn't say DOOM is even that underground anymore; he's done stuff with Gorillaz, De La Soul, Ghostface, and others.. and he is only getting bigger.

Second, no underground isn't garbage, wtf are you on man? What indie rappers have you actually listened to? You just have horrible fucking taste.

Underground rappers make decent money, since they have less corporate pressure, they take a bigger percentage of their sales for themselves than major label cats do.
